Beneath The Peloponnese
Discover Diros Cave, one of Europe's most extraordinary underground landscapes. Hidden beneath the Mani Peninsula, this ancient flooded cave system...
By the end of AIDA 4, you will not simply reach 38 meters. You will understand every detail that makes deep diving efficient, controlled, and safe. You will refine mouth fill and advanced equalization strategies, manage freefall with precision, and execute depth dives with disciplined planning and leadership awareness. Your rescue competence will extend from surface management to complex depth scenarios. More importantly, you will leave with calm authority, technical clarity, and the confidence to guide, support, and lead other freedivers in real training environments.
The AIDA 4 Master Freediver course represents the highest level of recreational freediving within the AIDA education system. Across five immersive training days, you will refine every element of your diving, from breathing mechanics and advanced equalization strategies to deep safety procedures, rescue leadership, and performance preparation.
This course goes beyond depth alone, focusing on precision, efficiency, and a complete understanding of the techniques that support safe and controlled deep diving. A defining element of AIDA 4 is the transition from skilled diver to confident dive leader and future assistant instructor.
You will learn to guide warm ups, supervise training sessions, support divers in the water, and contribute meaningfully to a professional freediving environment. Advanced concepts such as mouth fill equalization, FRC diving, packing and reverse packing, structured training methods, flexibility development, and performance nutrition are integrated alongside practical leadership and coaching skills.
By the end of the course, you will be capable of performing safe Constant Weight dives to 38 meters with refined technique, strong safety judgment, and the calm authority expected of a master level freediver.
• Certified AIDA 3 or equivalent freedivers ready for master level training
• Divers aiming to reach 38 meters with precision and control
• Athletes preparing for competitions or professional pathways
• Freedivers who want advanced rescue leadership and deep safety competence
• Those ready to transition from skilled diver to confident dive leader
We build mastery through understanding.
Your theory development explores the science, physiology, and training principles behind deep freediving, while strengthening the knowledge required for responsible dive leadership.
You will study:
• Advanced physics of pressure and gases, including Boyle’s, Dalton’s, and Henry’s laws
• Lung mechanics, failure depth, and strategies to improve vital capacity and flexibility
• FRC diving, mouth fill equalization, packing, and reverse packing, including use, benefits, and risks
• Decompression stress, surface intervals, and advanced deep safety considerations
• Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, stretching, and long term training structure
• Nutrition and recovery strategies that support high level performance
• The assistant instructor role, supervision principles, and safe group management
This is where depth becomes understood, not assumed.
Every concept is applied directly in training and leadership practice.
In confined water, the focus shifts toward performance quality, coaching awareness, and rescue leadership.
You will practice:
• Planning and leading warm ups and static sessions for other divers
• Static apnea performances of 3:30 or longer with full safety control
• Designing and executing structured dynamic training sessions
• Demonstration level dynamic apnea of 70 meters or more
• Acting as safety diver for maximum dynamic attempts
• Advanced rescue procedures for LMC and blackout, including pool extraction and coordinated team response
Confined water becomes a space for precision, responsibility, and leadership under controlled conditions.
During multiple deep training sessions, you will integrate technique, safety, and leadership in real diving conditions.
You will practice:
• Leading warm ups, stretches, and full open water dive preparation
• Independent setup and management of lines, knots, bottom weights, and safety systems
• Practicing FRC dives and mouth fill equalization in controlled progression
• Deep safety skills including mask off ascents, one fin ascents, and rescues from depth
• Towing and managing an unconscious diver at the surface with rescue breathing
• Performing Variable Weight dives in a structured learning environment
• Executing Constant Weight dives to 32 to 38 meters using refined equalization and freefall
• Supporting instructors and supervising other divers in real training scenarios
Open water becomes a space where mastery, responsibility, and leadership come together.
Depth means nothing without responsibility.
As part of your theory training, you will complete a dedicated environmental module focused on becoming a responsible freediver. Because performance without awareness has no place in the ocean.
You will learn:
• The fundamentals of marine ecosystem awareness
• The importance of Posidonia oceanica and why seabed contact matters
• How finning technique and buoyancy affect fragile habitats
• Respectful interaction guidelines for marine life
• Local environmental considerations specific to the Messinian Gulf
• How to assess shared water space with boats and other users
• Sustainable equipment and consumption choices
• Daily habits that reduce your environmental footprint as a diver
This module is not optional.
It is part of what defines a real freediver.
At Alchemy Freediving Center, responsibility toward yourself and responsibility toward the ocean are inseparable.

More importantly, you leave with authority.
Authority in your technique.
Authority in your decisions.
Authority in how you lead and support others in the water.
We train in calm conditions, in small groups, with full attention on each student.
Progress happens at your pace.
Confidence grows naturally.
You are not compared to anyone.
You are guided toward your own capacity.
AIDA 4 is not about depth alone.
It is about mastery.
It is about refining every detail that allows deep dives to feel controlled, efficient, and deliberate. It is about understanding the science behind performance, strengthening safety judgment, and developing the calm authority required to lead in the water.
You move beyond being a capable diver and step into responsibility.
Every dive is intentional.
Every decision carries weight.
This is where technique becomes mastery.
Where safety becomes leadership.
Where depth is managed, not chased.
You are not trained to push limits.
You are trained to embody them.
