Most internships happen behind screens. This one doesn’t.
It starts early. Gear is loaded, lines are checked, small details handled. By the time the boat leaves the harbor, you are already part of the system. Not watching it. Inside it.
We are looking for someone who prefers depth over desks.
Not just in the literal sense, but in how they approach work. Someone who wants to understand how things actually function. How a session is built from the ground up. How safety is managed before a diver even enters the water. How structure, discipline, and consistency turn days into progression.
This is not an observational role. You will assist, support, and take responsibility from the beginning. You will help prepare equipment, manage logistics, contribute to daily operations, and be present across both depth and pool sessions. You will also be involved in content creation, not as a separate task, but as part of the rhythm of the day. Capturing what happens, understanding why it happens, and learning how to communicate it properly.
At the same time, you will be training.
Because the environment we have built is not divided between staff and athletes. Everyone operates within the same framework. You will be exposed to long-term athlete development, structured progression, and a system that has been refined over decades. You will learn directly, not through theory, but through repetition, observation, and correction.
The expectation is simple.
Good energy. Consistency. Attention to detail. And professionalism at the highest level.
What you step into is not just an internship. It is part of the Alchemy Freediving Center Development and Internship Program. And what is outlined here is only part of it. The rest is discussed directly with those who move forward.
At its core, the program is built for people who want more than a certification card. They want experience. Real exposure. Real responsibility. Real progression.
Within that, you step into:
- An instructor development pathway that moves beyond theory into actual teaching
- Long-term athlete training, where progression is planned, tracked, and understood
- Daily depth and pool sessions that form the backbone of consistent improvement
- Direct mentorship shaped by 28 years of coaching and teaching experienceb
Beyond that, the structure expands.
- Certifications up to Instructor level, delivered within a controlled and demanding environment
- Supervised, real-world teaching experience, where you are not observing but participating
- Personal guidance that adapts to your level, your pace, and your direction
- Access to high-end training and equipment that defines how sessions are executed
This is not built for volume. It is built for quality. Small groups. Clear structure. High standards.
It is also demanding.
Days can be long. Conditions might change. Responsibility is real. There is no space for ego, and very little tolerance for inconsistency. But for the right person, this is where things start to make sense. Where freediving stops being fragmented pieces and becomes a system you can understand and operate within.
The location is not incidental.
Based in Kalamata, the center operates in conditions that allow consistency. Deep water within minutes. Stable weather patterns. Clear visibility. An environment where training is not interrupted, but supported.
Which means you are not just learning the work.
You are learning it under the right conditions.
Whether you are an aspiring instructor looking for real hands-on experience, an athlete seeking structured long-term training, or already certified and looking to refine your skills while actively teaching, this program is built to support your next step.
If spending the next months working and training in the water, in world-class conditions, alongside one of the most experienced teams in the field, sounds like your kind of environment, then this will make sense to you.
Limited spots. Kalamata based.
