Beneath The Peloponnese
Discover Diros Cave, one of Europe's most extraordinary underground landscapes. Hidden beneath the Mani Peninsula, this ancient flooded cave system...
By the end of AIDA 2, you will not only reach depths of up to 20 meters, you will understand how you got there. You will refine your breathing, equalization, and technique in both pool and open water, while developing strong buddy and rescue skills built on real structure. You will learn how your body adapts to pressure and how to manage effort with control and awareness. Most importantly, you will leave with measurable progress, disciplined habits, and the confidence to freedive independently, safely, and consistently.
The AIDA 2 Freediver course is the foundation of recreational freediving. Designed for students who are already comfortable in the water, this three day course develops the essential skills, knowledge, and safety awareness needed to freedive confidently and responsibly. Across classroom learning, pool training, and open water sessions, you will discover how your body adapts to breath hold diving, refine your technique, and practice proven safety and rescue procedures, always in a calm, supportive environment and at a pace that feels comfortable. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to perform safe recreational freedives to depths of up to 20 meters.
• Certified beginners who want to build real depth
• Divers ready to refine technique and equalization
• Students who want structured progression, not guesswork
• Those aiming to freedive safely up to 20 meters
• Individuals committed to strong buddy and rescue skills
You will learn:
• Advanced breathing structure and relaxation refinement
• Detailed freediving physiology and pressure adaptation
• Equalization techniques for deeper, controlled descents
• Efficient movement and energy management
• Depth discipline requirements and performance standards
• Structured buddy supervision and rescue protocols
• Equipment configuration for depth progression
• Risk assessment and decision-making in open water
This is where knowledge becomes measurable progress.
Every concept is applied directly in training.
You will move into structured pool and open water sessions where technique becomes discipline.
You will practice:
• Refined breathing and relaxation under performance conditions
• Static apnea with advanced recovery protocol
• Dynamic apnea with efficient technique and distance control
• Structured buddy supervision and full rescue scenarios
• Correct weighting and buoyancy calibration for depth
• Free Immersion descents with control and line awareness
• Constant Weight dives with proper body positioning and turns
• Depth progression up to 20 meters under full safety protocol
All sessions are supervised with measurable standards.
Safety, structure, and consistency define every dive.
Depth means nothing without responsibility.
As part of your theory training, you will complete a dedicated environmental module focused on becoming a responsible freediver. Because performance without awareness has no place in the ocean.
You will learn:
• The fundamentals of marine ecosystem awareness
• The importance of Posidonia oceanica and why seabed contact matters
• How finning technique and buoyancy affect fragile habitats
• Respectful interaction guidelines for marine life
• Local environmental considerations specific to the Messinian Gulf
• How to assess shared water space with boats and other users
• Sustainable equipment and consumption choices
• Daily habits that reduce your environmental footprint as a diver
This module is not optional.
It is part of what defines a real freediver.
At Alchemy Freediving Center, responsibility toward yourself and responsibility toward the ocean are inseparable.
Your AIDA 2 experience is structured, progressive, and intentionally designed. Nothing is random. Every session builds on the previous one.
Throughout your three-day training, you receive:
• Professional instruction from a certified AIDA Instructor
• Advanced theory sessions covering physiology, pressure adaptation, safety, and depth discipline
• Pool training focused on static and dynamic apnea performance standards
• Three open-water depth sessions with structured progression
• Training in Free Immersion and Constant Weight disciplines
• Full buddy supervision and depth rescue protocol practice
• Correct weighting assessment and buoyancy calibration
• Access to premium freediving equipment throughout the program
• Diving insurance coverage for the duration of the course
• Access to our training facilities throughout the program
• A digital course manual for continued development
• International AIDA 2 certification upon successful completion
This is not a casual workshop.
It is a complete and structured progression into recreational depth freediving.
By the end of AIDA 2, you will have:
• Completed structured depth sessions up to 20 meters
• Refined your breathing, equalization, and technique
• Developed strong and measurable buddy and rescue skills
• Improved static and dynamic apnea performance
• Learned to manage depth with control and discipline
• Earned your AIDA 2 certification
More importantly, you will leave with confidence.
Confidence in your training.
Confidence in your safety procedures.
Confidence in your ability to freedive independently and responsibly.
We train in calm conditions, in small groups, with full attention on each student.
Progress happens at your pace.
Confidence grows naturally.
You are not compared to anyone.
You are guided toward your own capacity.
AIDA 2 is not about chasing depth.
It is about earning it.
It is about refining your technique.
Building discipline under pressure.
Learning to manage depth with structure and control.
You will move beyond introduction and into measurable progression.
Every dive has purpose.
Every session builds on the last.
This is where uncertainty is replaced by clarity.
Where confidence is built on repetition, supervision, and proper safety protocol.
You will never be pushed for numbers.
You will be guided toward competence.
