BOOKINGS & AVAILABILITY

When do bookings open?

Bookings open on May 1st. From that point, all courses, training sessions, and coaching programs become available to reserve through our website.

How do I book a course or training session?

Bookings are made directly through our website. You can select your course or training option, choose your preferred dates, and complete your reservation online. If you are unsure which option suits your level or goals, you can contact us and we will guide you before you book.

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

Rescheduling and cancellations are possible within a defined timeframe prior to your booking. Because training slots are limited and carefully structured, late changes may not be accepted. Full details are outlined in our booking policy, and we encourage all divers to review them before confirming their reservation.

Do you offer private coaching or custom programs?

Yes. We offer private coaching and fully customized training programs designed around your level, goals, and timeline. Whether you are preparing for competition, working on specific disciplines, or looking for focused progression, we can structure a program that fits your needs.

Is there a minimum stay or minimum number of sessions?

There is no strict minimum stay. However, freediving progression requires consistency and repetition, and we strongly recommend committing to multiple consecutive sessions to get the most out of your time in the water.

COURSES & TRAINING

Which course is right for my level?

Your current experience, comfort in the water, and familiarity with freediving techniques will determine the right starting point. Beginners typically start with AIDA 1 or AIDA 2, while certified divers can continue with AIDA 3, AIDA 4, or move into structured training. If you are unsure, we can assess your level and guide you toward the most appropriate option.

Do I need prior experience to join?

No prior freediving experience is required for entry-level courses. However, you should be comfortable in the water and able to swim. For higher-level courses or training sessions, previous certification or equivalent experience is necessary.

What certification system do you follow?

All our courses follow the standards of AIDA International. This ensures a structured progression, internationally recognized certifications, and a strong emphasis on safety, technique, and understanding of the sport.

How many students per instructor?

We maintain small group sizes to ensure close supervision, personalized feedback, and a controlled training environment. Ratios vary depending on the course level, but the focus is always on quality of instruction rather than volume.

Can I train without taking a course?

Yes, certified divers can join training sessions without enrolling in a course. These sessions are supervised and structured, allowing you to work on depth, technique, or specific disciplines within a safe and controlled framework.

Do you offer competition preparation?

Yes. We offer dedicated coaching and structured programs for divers preparing for competitions. This includes discipline-specific training, performance planning, safety protocols, and ongoing feedback designed to support consistent and measurable progression.

SAFETY & MEDICAL

What safety systems are in place?

Safety is built into every aspect of our operation. All dives are conducted on a controlled line system with dedicated supervision, clear dive protocols, and structured buddy procedures. Our setup includes a fully equipped main line, counterbalance recovery system, real-time diver tracking, and trained safety divers positioned according to depth and discipline. Every session follows a defined safety framework, not improvised decision-making.

Is dive insurance mandatory?

Yes. Valid dive insurance is required for all participants. If you do not already have coverage, we can assist you in arranging a plan that matches your certification level and intended training depth.

Do I need a medical certificate?

Yes. All divers must complete a medical declaration before entering the water. Depending on your answers, a physician’s approval may be required. This ensures that any underlying conditions are identified and managed appropriately before training begins.

What happens in case of a blackout or incident?

All instructors and safety divers are trained to respond immediately using established rescue protocols. The entire system is designed for rapid response and coordinated action, minimizing risk at every stage of the dive.

Is oxygen available on site?

Yes. Emergency oxygen is always available and ready for use when required. It forms part of our standard safety setup for all training sessions.

Who supervises the dives?

Every dive is directly supervised by experienced instructors and trained safety divers. Roles are clearly defined before each session, ensuring constant monitoring from surface to depth and back. No unsupervised diving is permitted under any circumstances.

EQUIPMENT

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

You are welcome to bring your own equipment, and many divers prefer to train with gear they are already familiar with. If you do not have your own, we can provide certain equipment for your sessions, besides lanyards.

Can I rent equipment on site?

Yes. We offer a range of freediving equipment for rent, including wetsuits, fins, and weight systems. All rental gear is maintained to a high standard and selected for performance, comfort, and reliability.

What equipment is included in courses?

All essential equipment is included in our courses. This covers the full setup required for safe and effective training, including access to professional-grade diving infrastructure and safety systems.

Do you provide lanyards?

No. Each diver is required to use their own personal lanyard, as it is considered individual safety equipment and should not be shared. However, we offer in our shop a wide variety of lanyards for you to choose and from and buy your own.

Can I purchase Alchemy equipment?

Yes. A selection of Alchemy equipment is available on site, allowing you to purchase gear directly at the center. This gives you the opportunity to see and handle the products, and in most cases test them in real conditions before making a decision. Our team can also guide you in selecting the right setup based on your level, preferences, and training goals.

TRAVEL & KALAMATA

How do I get to Kalamata?

Kalamata is easily accessible from within Greece and across Europe. Kalamata International Airport operates seasonal international flights, while year-round connections are available via Athens International Airport. There are also domestic flights connecting Thessaloniki to Kalamata. The city is well connected by road, making it straightforward to reach by car.

Where should I stay?

Kalamata offers a wide range of accommodation options, from beachfront apartments to boutique hotels and longer-term rentals. Most divers choose to stay close to the coastline to minimize daily travel time and stay connected to the training environment.

Do you offer accommodation or partnerships?

While we do not operate our own housing, we can guide you toward reliable choices that align with your stay and training schedule.

What is the cost of living in Kalamata?

Kalamata remains one of the more affordable coastal destinations in Europe. Accommodation, food, and daily expenses are generally lower compared to other well-known freediving locations, allowing you to focus on training without excessive cost.

What can I do outside of diving?

Beyond diving, the region offers a wide range of experiences. You can explore the mountains of the Peloponnese, hike through remote landscapes, visit historical sites, or simply spend time along the coastline. The area combines access to nature with a strong local culture, making it easy to balance training with exploration.

Is Kalamata suitable for families or non-divers?

Yes. Kalamata is a vibrant coastal city with something to offer beyond freediving. Beaches, cafes, restaurants, and nearby excursions make it an enjoyable destination for companions who are not training, allowing both divers and non-divers to share the experience.

CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

What are the water conditions like?

Kalamata offers stable and predictable sea conditions, making it ideal for consistent training. The main training areas are protected and allow for controlled depth sessions with minimal external variables, creating an environment where divers can focus fully on technique and progression.

Is there current?

Currents are virtually non-existent in the primary training zones. This allows dives to be conducted on a stable line without lateral movement, increasing both safety and efficiency during descent and ascent.

What is the visibility?

Visibility typically ranges between 20 and 40 meters depending on the season and conditions. This level of clarity supports both safety and performance, allowing divers to maintain visual reference throughout the dive.

What are the water temperatures throughout the year?

Water temperatures range from approximately 17°C in early spring to around 27°C during peak summer. This allows for a long training season with relatively comfortable conditions across most of the year.

When is the best time to train?

The main training season runs from late spring through early autumn, when conditions are at their most stable and water temperatures are at their highest. However, the area remains suitable for training outside of peak months for those looking for quieter periods and cooler water.

PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH

What makes your center different?

We are built as a performance-focused training environment, not a recreational dive school. Every element, from infrastructure to coaching, is designed to support serious progression. Small groups, structured sessions, and a strong safety framework allow divers to train with intention rather than simply accumulate dives.

Do you focus on performance or education?

Both are inseparable. Education builds the foundation, and performance is the outcome of applying it correctly. We do not chase depth for its own sake. We focus on developing efficient technique, understanding physiology, and building the mental control required for long-term progression.

Is this suitable for beginners or only advanced divers?

It is suitable for both. Beginners are introduced to the sport in a structured and controlled way, while more experienced divers benefit from the depth access, coaching, and training systems in place. The environment adapts to the diver, not the other way around.

How do you approach progression and safety?

Progression is methodical and built over time. We prioritize consistency, correct technique, and proper recovery rather than pushing limits prematurely. Safety is not treated as a separate layer. It is integrated into every decision, every dive, and every part of the training process.

practical details

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, as well as online payments through our booking system.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled according to our booking policy. Because training slots are limited and scheduled in advance, cancellations within a certain timeframe may not be eligible for a full refund. We recommend reviewing the policy carefully before confirming your booking.

Can I combine training with remote work?

Yes. Many divers choose to balance training with remote work. With one main session per day and flexible time outside of it, it is possible to maintain a work routine while training, provided you manage recovery and energy levels properly.

OCEAN RESPONSIBILITY

Do you include sustainability in your courses?

Yes. Environmental awareness is integrated into every course. Divers are introduced to responsible behavior in the water, respect for marine life, and the impact of human activity on the ocean. The goal is not only to train better divers, but more conscious ones.

How do you minimize environmental impact?

We operate with a focus on reducing our footprint wherever possible. This includes responsible use of resources, careful management of our training areas, and avoiding practices that disturb marine ecosystems. Our approach is based on long-term respect for the environment we depend on.

Are there any local regulations divers should know?

Yes. Divers are expected to follow local guidelines regarding marine protection, fishing restrictions, and general conduct in the water. We provide guidance on these regulations as part of your onboarding, ensuring that all activity is aligned with local laws and environmental responsibility.
